So now I have graduated from primary school I am about to start the next part of my journey called life. I am about to go from being the highest and oldest of the primary school to a little tiny grade 7 in High School.
I always knew that High School was going to be a really big part of my life. High School is when you come to age where you can do stuff, where you can change things and you can really create your foot print in the world. I am truly hoping that my foot print is a good one, like a foot print on the wet sand that has just gone hard because the waves are no longer rushing past it so it forever stands.
I do know that High School is not all fun and games as High School Musical makes it out to be. I know that exams are also a big part of High School but I do think that I will be fine because of multiple reasons. The first reason is because I know that I have really good organisation skills, I always seem to be the mother of my friend group and the person everyone asks what the agenda is. My second reason is my friends because I have a really good group of friends, some moving with me to my new High School and some staying at my old primary school but every exam or test we are always testing each other at morning tea and lunch.
So many people have asked me how I feel about moving to high school and when I was still in year 6 I had a lot of mixed emotions. I felt really nervous about leaving the school I love and know but I also was really excited to go and start something new. Now it is holidays and I have said good bye to my old school I am stacked full of excitement for my new journey and I am empty of nervousness. So now when people ask me “Are you nervous for High School?” I simply reply “Nah….”.
You can tell from my internet history that I am excited for next year.
Hi it’s nearly the new year so I decided to do some reflecting posts from this year and this is going to be the first one.
So I am going to reflect on how I was different this year.
First term I was Class Leader. And that was different because by the time of year 6 everyone had at least been class leader once so the winning prize was House Leader. The one leadership roll only year 6’s participated in. However I had never been in a leadership roll before so I decided to start off small to get some experience in leadership skills.
In term 2 it was bandana day held by the canTeen Team to help young children with cancer. I bought 2 bandanas one in pink and the other in green. And nearly everyone did that so what was different that day? Well to wear a bandana you wrap it around your head and tie at the back or front but instead I tied them around both of my wrists. I had 2 reasons for this choice 1. I couldn’t choose which one to wear because they both were so cool 2. I had just got my hair done at the hairdressers and it looked so good so I didn’t want to put it on my head. However only the first one was specified as I didn’t want to sound like a weird person and look like one.
Term 3 I was elected House Leader in this term and was pleased about myself so I wanted to be the best leader I could possibly be. But this was probably the most biggest difference I have ever done in my life, I brought in fruit instead of lollies. My school as I love it so has a bad habit of bringing in boxes on top of boxes of lollies to school carnivals and events. So on my first sports carnival…….I was sick. Which was so annoying because I looked like a weirdo sitting under the canopy eating watermelon on sticks. But anyway my watermelon, oranges and strawberries on paddle pop sticks were thoughtfully made by my wonderful mother (Thanks mum!) but I had to go home early as I was worried I was going to effect everyone with my disgusting sneezing, coughing disease.
Also in Term 3 and also about House Leader my other difference comes to light. Well when trying utterly hard on my House speech I found out I didn’t even need it because i had already been elected because I was the only one in the whole of my house in year 6 that put my name in so I was automatically elected as House Leader Semester 2 2016. However I still wanted to do my speech so people wouldn’t be shocked when I come to athletics with an esky of fruit instead of sour straps. So I finished preparing my speech but that is when that sickness came in so I didn’t do it and everyone was shocked that sour babies, unbearable’s and sour patch kids had been murdered by my fruit on a stick.
My last term and my last difference was on Maker Day a day where everyone dresses up as someone who makes something and Oh, My, Gosh you would never guess how many artists showed up to school that day everyone was getting ambushed by aprons and paintbrushes. But in amongst the builders, the painters and the architectures there was one little girl ( well a big year 6 girl for primary and a little girl for seniors) that dressed up different to all the rest. I give you three guesses to guess my dress up.
I hoped you enjoyed this reflecting post as much as I enjoyed writing it

Yesterday at 5:47pm I was at the airport dropping off my Granny to go back to England and we went past this sign.
At first sight the sign looked pretty normal but when we went past it twice I realised that it didn’t really make that much sense.
On the sign it has 2 pictures, a dog and a bird. So this made me think…. I can’t bring my dog and I can’t bring my bird but I suppose I can bring all my other pets from the farm to say good bye?
Normally a sign like this would only have a picture of a dog as it is now distinguished as a world wide code for all pets. But in this case this international airport have confused things a little because they have put a dog and a bird. So at first glance you think, ok no pets but then at second glance you realise, but why is it specifically focusing on a bird?????
My first theory was that some people don’t think of a bird as a pet so they had to keep it clear that no pet even birds are aloud in this airport.
Underneath the visual image which is there for those citizens you probably don’t know how to read english (which for those people this might get even more confusing), is a message that reads “NO ANIMALS PAST THIS POINT”.
And then I thought all over again about my first theory because again a dog is a world wide image that usually means animals as well as pets so those people who pride them selves of having a pet that probably wouldn’t be in the pet shop (e.g a crocodile) sadly even your pet can’t come into this airport according to this message.
Like most signs the written message was probably for the visual so why not just have the dog because it is a symbol of animals but they decide to put a bird on board as well but why? A bird is an animal there for would be inside that dog picture in fine print.
So I think it is fare to say that this sign is a little weird, incorrect, confusing and probably not needed in the first place.
By the way that was just a weird thing that happened in my life that I felt like sharing so sorry for the inconvenient randomness on this post.
Over and Out
It is almost impossible to watch a SUNSET and not DREAM………..
This evening I saw the first summers sunset. A mix of purples, pinks, yellows and reds. A truly amazing experience.
On Sunday (2 days ago) It was very hot and I had get my shorts on but at 2:00 in the afternoon a cool breeze whooshed past our house and the most miraculous thing happened it snowed (well kind of).
In our background we have a massive tree with the most beautiful bloom. Some of you might have read my last post Spring Outfit #4 and that outfit was inspired by this tree. Now you might be wondering what do you mean about snow, well as I was saying before a breeze went past our house and lots and lots of bright yellow flowers came flying down to the ground. It was so spectacular that I had to go outside and dance around in the beautiful blooms (and write a blog post about it😎).
It was a funny thought that it was snowing yellow buds in our yard but then it kind of made sense. If you live in Australia, right now it is summer and what things do you think about in summer, well I think of the beach, the sun and funnily enough yellow. So I thought it was a kinda cool concept that it was snowing bright, summery drops of sunshine around our garden.
Here are a few pictures: (to prove my scientific concept of snowing in Queensland)
Oh and as you can see in this photo the trampoline got a nice shower.
Ok then I hoped you enjoyed reading this quick update to Lotto’s life and if you did like and follow for more Outfits, little updates like this, trying products and lots more.
Over and Out
Here is the next outfit and tips I have prepared for you and for the people who live in Australia it is an outfit for those days that are getting ready for summer. So lets get into it.
Spring Outfit #4:
This Outfit is for those days when summer is nocking on the door but you are still able to wear long pants. With its denim on denim with black boots it already looks amazing but when you add a splash of summery colour this outfit just pops. Adding a yellow scarf which peeps through the jacket is the perfect thing to add a extra to this outfit. I added frosted pink lipstick to make this look super cute. I also made my hair pop by curling it up at the ends.
So this outfit today was inspired by our tree in our backyard. At the moment it is covered in millions of yellow flowers that have been blown all over our back lawn. This inspired this yellow, summery outfit and that is going to be my tip today. Having an inspiration for your outfit makes it a lot more important because it has a story behind it. So that is kind of it because I can’t really tell you what inspires you so from here what ever inspires you, you could make an outfit out of it. Because what ever inspires you might not be what inspires me and what ever inspires me might not inspire everyone else.
So I hope you liked this outfit and feel free to like and follow if you did.
I will see you for Spring Outfit #5 next Sunday and just to let you know it will be the last one so if you enjoyed the seasonal outfits send me a comment of what season you would like me to do outfits for but until then……
Over and Out
Sorry everyone for forgetting to do my Spring Outfit number three yesterday but today I have a spectacular outfit and set of tips.
Spring Outfit #3
So this outfit I think would be great for going out to the movies with friends or out to lunch with family. Everything in this outfit looks like a match in heaven from the red polkadot dress to the red cherry brooch. A beautiful dress I got from South Bank Markets with a bright red colour and adorable polkadots looks stunning with my dark denim jacket I was talking about last week. For this outfit I just had to have some extras so I went cute and kawaii with frosted pink lipstick, red blush and eye jewels toped off with a coordinating red cherry brooch.
So throughout my spring outfits I have been using colour coordinating in little things and in big features. This outfit I could have used a yellow pineapple brooch on my jacket but because I had a red dress I decided to use some red in my extra so that it would all go together. In Spring Outfit #1 firstname.lastname@example.org commented “I really like how you have coordinated the colours. Looks really pretty.”
And she was right because in my first outfit I talked a lot about my colours all going together but you might not have realised in how many ways I achieved that.
If you look closely at my shirt, pants, bracelet and shoes they actually have the same shade of pink in them but don’t get me wrong I don’t want you walking in the street in completely one colour, all of these pieces of the outfit also have different colours on them too so the pinks don’t all look the same but they still look planned and very pretty.
But even my boring white socks were coordinated with something too, do you see the white stripes on my purse which goes with my socks, shoes and shirt? Well they all go together because even though they are separated they are all planned to be together.
So if you want to do some coordinating think of these concepts:
- Start small: Try to coordinate your extras with the main feature of the outfit
- Not all one colour: As I said before don’t go out the door in one colour, just have one colour that appears in many areas of your outfit
- Makeup also works: If your out of plans and you have a pink dress and pink lipstick just go for it
- Jewellery looks great too: same with the makeup jewellery will easily fit in with any outfit
So I hope you have learnt some more about colour coordinating and I will see you next time for Spring Outfit #4 so until then….
